About the federation
The BVI Chess Federation is the governing body for chess in the Virgin Islands. We run the national championships, keep the ratings, train arbiters and select the teams that represent the Virgin Islands abroad.
Our mission
To grow chess in the Virgin Islands through schools, trained coaches and arbiters, and national teams.
The federation sanctions tournaments, publishes the rating list and selects national teams for the Chess Olympiad and youth events.
It is run by an elected council of volunteers. Clubs and schools affiliate to the federation, and players join as members.
